CMSF Scholarship Award
Award Amount: Up to $1,000
Objective: To support aspiring metrologists, technicians, engineers, and skilled trades professionals in advancing their education and career development within the field of coordinate metrology.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?


The CMSF scholarship is open to a wide range of candidates across education levels and career stages. All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Sponsorship by a CMS Member   
    Each applicant must be endorsed by an active CMS member who provides a recommendation detailing the candidate’s qualifications and potential contribution to metrology.
  2. Education Level
    The scholarship is open to the following:

    • High School Students: Pursuing post-secondary education in fields related to coordinate metrology, precision measurement, or engineering.
    • University Students: Enrolled in accredited programs in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, or related disciplines.
    • University Professors and Faculty: Looking to be introduced to or extend their coordinate metrology skill sets.
    • Technicians & Trades Operators: Actively working in manufacturing, metrology, or quality control industries and seeking additional certification or technical training.
    • Engineers: Early career professionals aiming to deepen their expertise or advance research in metrology.
  3. Academic & Professional Standards
    • High school applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
    • University applicants must be in good academic standing within their institution.
    • Professionals should demonstrate a commitment to professional development in metrology through certifications, coursework, or industry experience.
  4. Commitment to CMS Values
    Demonstrated interest in metrology through coursework, internships, work experience, or research projects aligned with CMS objectives.

The CMSF currently offers the following award:

  • CMSF Scholarship: Awards of up to $1,000 to support education and career development in coordinate metrology and related fields.
